Joan A. Meader, 72, of Narragansett, died Monday in Tennessee. She was the beloved wife of Richard J. Meader for 55 years. Born in South Kingstown, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Elizabeth (Arundale) McCall. Mrs. Meader was an avid knitter, baker, and enjoyed playing bingo. Besides her husband, she is survived by four daughters, Lori Meader of Oswego, New York, Robin Deitrick andher husband Michael of Narragansett, Karen DeRita and her husband Steve of Wakefield, and Holly Malenfant and her husband Kenneth of Richmond; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a sister, Barbara McCall of Tennessee; and two brothers, William McCall of North Kingstown and Kenneth McCall of Wakefield. Visiting hours are at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, Sunday, 3-5 pm. A graveside service will be held at 11 am Monday in Riverside Cemetery, Wakefield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Future Farmers Program, c/o Narragansett High School, 245 South Pier Road, Narragansett, RI 02882.
