Jessie Clare Sullivan, 87, of Narragansett, died peacefully Friday. She was the wife of the late James T. Sullivan. Born in Newport, she was a daughter of the late David and Isabel (Anderson) Booth. Jessie was an avid reader. She enjoyed the natural beauty of Newport and Narragansett, and long swims at Gooseberry Beach. She and her late husband Jim enjoyed many trips together to Scotland and Ireland. She was proud of her Scottish Heritage. She was a very proud and devoted grandmother and great-grandmother. She was always willing to help people in need. Jessie will be missed by her family and friends at the Polo Club. She is survived by four daughters, Clare (Tom) Lindberg of Marina, CA, Jean (Paul) Moran of Narragansett, Ann Sullivan (Randy Updegrove) of South Kingstown, and Marie (Jens) Retlev of Bristol; three sons, David Sullivan of North Kingstown, James (Emma) Sullivan of Middletown, and Kevin Sullivan of Newport; a daughter-in-law, Tammy Sullivan of South Kingstown; twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Thomas Sullivan and sister of the late David Booth, William Booth, Robert Booth, Douglas Booth, Isabel Kenyon, Jean Booth, and Marion Cinell. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Wednesday, May 13th, in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 864 Pt. Judith Road, Narragansett. Burial will follow in St. Columbia Cemetery, Middletown. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
