Jeffrey P. Cooper

June 3, 1942 — September 5, 2014

Jeffrey P. Cooper, of Narragansett, RI and formerly of North Attleboro, MA died of a brief illness while surrounded by his loving family. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Stanley S. and Shirley (Vaslet) Cooper. He leaves his loving wife Claire (Nault) Cooper, his daughters Rachael Routhier of North Attleboro, and Kimberly Marin of East Providence, his granddaughters Morgan Taylor, Rylee Marin, Lily and Emma Routhier, his sister Marsha Crecelius of Florida, and a nephew Cris Crecelius of Providence. Jeff grew up in Pawtucket, RI and was a 1960 graduate of Saint Raphael Academy where he was a 3 sport athlete and a 1964 graduate of Boston College where he played baseball. He worked in sales for Sears and Roebucks and Litton Appliance, and later became the President of JB Liquors, Inc. in Woonsocket, RI until his retirement in 2008. In the late 70’s and early 80’s Jeff was a mentor to many children while coaching little league baseball in North Attleboro. He later became the Girls Varsity Softball coach at Bishop Feehan High School, the Boston Bandits Junior Olympic softball team. He was a lifetime member of the Elks. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends at Matunuck Beach and watching the waves crash at the Point Judith Light House. He also proudly supported Boston College Football as a season ticket holder for 50 years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Tuesday at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 864 Pt. Judith Road, Narragansett, RI. Burial will be private. Visiting hours are at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, RI, Monday, 5-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to South Kingstown Elks Lodge # 1899, 60 Belmont Avenue, Wakefield, RI 02879.
