Jeanne Faucher White, 79, of Narragansett, died Wednesday, September 2, at South County Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Frank M. White, they were married for 52 years. Born in Wakefield, MA, a daughter of the late Edward Faucher and Lillian (Boote) Faucher Pinto, she had resided in Narragansett since 1964. A talented artist, she studied at the School of Practical Art and the Boston Museum of Fine Arts School. She then worked for the Lerner Shops, in both Boston and New York City, as the store decorator. For many years she chaired the Narragansett Art Festival. Her paintings, drawings and other creations are displayed in many homes, especially her own. Her home on Central Street was a notable showplace of her artistic and decorating skills. She was witty, articulate, and well read, owning over 5000 books. She was a great cook and hostess. Her extreme good judgment caused her to be sought after for advice and support by many local residents. She was especially helpful to the elderly. She enjoyed travel, notably to Ireland, the home of her Cloakley ancestors. In addition to her husband, she is survived by four daughters, Jennifer Dorr White and Ellen Emerson White of New York City, Amy Boyce White of Essex Junction, VT, and Sarah Gardiner White of Somerville, MA; her brothers, Donald Pinto of New York City and the late David Pinto of Woburn, MA; a son –in-law John Eisner of New York City; and two grandchildren, Hannah and Jacob Eisner. The funeral will be private and visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
