Jean L. Tudder

March 20, 1929 — May 8, 2017

Jean L. Tudder of Severna, Park, MD, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2017. She was the beloved wife of the late A. Paul Tudder. Born in Allentown, PA. and raised in Harrisburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Judge George and Mrs. Kathleen Atkins. Mrs. Tudder was a graduate of Cedar Crest College, where she achieved her Degrees in Education. She was a member of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Mrs. Tudder began her teaching career in 1961 and over the span of 30 years touched the hearts and minds of hundreds of students that to this day share their ongoing accomplishments and attribute them to her teachings. She loved her students and they loved her. Mrs. Tudder was an avid bridge player and played many rounds of bridge at the Chartwell Country Club, where she has been a member for over 40 years. She belonged to many different bridge groups and loved the camaraderie and the game. She loved to travel, had an insatiable appetite for a good conversation and was an excellent listener to many that she befriended along the way. Mrs. Tudder is survived by her three children, Dr. Paul A. Tudder of Leesburg, Virginia, Kathleen L. Caswell of Kingston, Rhode Island, George B. Tudder of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and her grandchildren. In addition, she is survived by her cousins, Donald Beldon, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Marjean Cline, Halsey, Oregon. A Celebration of her Life will be held at 10:00 AM on June 17, 2017 at the Severna Park United Methodist Church, 731 Benfield Road, Severna Park, Maryland 21146. Internment at the Arlington National Cemetery will be held later. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Severna Park United Methodist Church, 731 Benfield Road, Severna Park, Maryland 21146.
