Jean Carr Stutz

June 24, 1937 — October 10, 2020

Jean Carr Stutz 83, of Port Charlotte Florida and formerly of Wakefield, RI passed away October 10, 2020. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Harriet Sherman Carr. She is survived by her loving husband, Eric J Stutz, twin daughters, Laurie J. LeBlanc of North Attleboro, Massachusetts and Nancy (Robert) Toth of Wakefield RI, sister, Mary Rice of Wakefield, RI and the late Raymond Carr of Wakefield. She also leaves behind six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Jean was a graduate of South Kingstown High School, class of 1955. Jean worked as a research assistant at the University of Rhode Island Graduate School of Oceanography for many years before retiring Prior to moving to Florida. She was a member of Peace Dale First Church of God where she served as pianist. Jean had a passion for genealogy, local history and was an avid reader. Visiting hours will be held at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, Saturday October 17, 2020, 10 – 11 am followed by funeral service at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at New Fernwood Cemetery Kingston, RI. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Samaritan’s Purse, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.
