Janice Wilke, 81, of Wakefield, passed away Tuesday. She was the beloved wife of Robert Wilke. Born in New York, NY, she was a daughter of the late James and Emma (Flegg) Anderson. She graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 1954. Prior to her marriage, she became the Assistant Director for the test kitchen of the Standard Brands Company. She would travel all over the country, sharing her expertise and teaching new skills. After raising her family, she returned to the work and had worked for the Hospital Trust Bank and the Washington Trust Company along with helping her husband at the Wilking Studio. Mrs. Wilke volunteered her time with Hospice Care of Rhode Island and Meals on Wheels. Besides her husband she is survived by two daughters, Jayne Maker of Warwick and Meredith Dubuisson of Wakefield; and four grandchildren, Alex and Julia Maker, Calvin and Natalie Dubuisson. Visiting hours are at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, Sunday, 2-4 p.m. Funeral and burial will be private.
