Janice Mattingly

Janice Mattingly, 67, of North Stonington, CT, died Monday. She was the beloved wife of Robert F. Mattingly, Jr. and they were married 46 years. Born in Newport, she was a daughter of Ruth (Champion) Locke and the late George Locke. Mrs. Mattingly was employed by Viking tours in Newport for 18 years and was an active member of St. Matthews Episcopal Church in Jamestown, serving on the Altar guild, vestry and supervising Sunday School. She enjoyed singing, gardening and reading. Besides her husband and mother she is survived by, three children, Robert J. Mattingly and his wife Sarah Curry of Mooseup, CT, Keith Mattingly and his wife Kimberly of North Stonington, CT, Kathleen Billings of North Kingstown, five grandsons, a sister Leslie North of Portsmouth and a brother Alan Locke of Newport. A memorial service will be held at 2 PM Saturday in St. Matthews Church, 87 Narragansett Avenue, Jamestown, RI.
