Janice Laura Hill

Janice L. (Mars) Hill, 65, of Old Mill Rd., Charlestown, died Saturday at home. She was the wife of Reginald Hill. Born in Wakefield, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Harold S. Mars Sr. and Laura L. (Fry) Mars. Janice worked as a systems support technician at the University of Rhode Island for twenty-six years before retiring in 2008. She was a church pianist at the First Church of God, Peace Dale and a member of the Narragansett Indian Tribe. Besides her husband she leaves her sons, Rodney P. Hopkins of Peace Dale and Donald P. Hopkins Jr. of Ashaway; her daughter Maija Hill of Charlestown, brothers, Harold S. Mars Jr., of Rochester, NY, David K. Mars Sr. and Rev. Roland C. Mars both of Charlestown; many grandchildren and many great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Friday at 9:30 AM in the First Church of God, 209 Allen Ave, Peace Dale. Burial will be in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. No visiting hours.
