Janice Elizabeth Ann Brown

Janice Elizabeth Ann Brown (Clowes), 62, of Wakefield, passed away on Thursday, March 22, 2018. She was the beloved wife of 39 years to Richard Brown. Born in Islington, London England, she was the daughter of Ellen (Atkins) and the late Reginald Clowes of Little Hallingbury, England. After teaching for one year, Janice moved to the United States and married her husband in 1979. They have lived in Wakefield, Ri since 1981. During her time in RI, Janice volunteered at various organizations. An animal lover, she adopted all her 10 dogs always having a strong feeling for the underdog. She was also a member of the Kingston Hill Gardeners with a slightly eclectic gardening style. Janice enjoyed painting the inside and outside of house and started landscape painting. Recently her efforts were focused on enjoying time with her grandchildren. Simple things that lead to a beautiful life. Besides her husband she is survived by her sons Duncan J. Brown of Wakefield and Alec W. Brown and his wife Maria D. (Finley) Brown of Manhasset, NY; grandmother to Henry Charles Brown and Finley Oliver Brown both of Manhasset, NY; and the sister of Susan Melani of Empoli, Italy and Gillian Pearson of Wakefield. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 29, 2018 from 10-11:00 am in Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield, with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 am. Burial will be private.
