Janet F. Berry, 55, of Kingston, died unexpectedly Monday. She was the beloved wife of Russell O. Berry. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late John R., Jr. and Susanne (Gadwah) Candon. She graduated from Rhode Island College with a degree in Journalism. She had been a teacher for the past eight years at A Place to Grow, where she had been working with infants. Janet has had a lifelong passion for singing and for the past several years had been performing with the North Kingstown Community Chorus. She also enjoyed gardening and loved the beach. Besides her husband she is survived by three sons, Cameron M. Moquin, Patrick R. Moquin, and Timothy R. Moquin, all of Cranston; six brothers and sisters, John Candon of Rumford, Robert Candon of Cranston, Mary MacDonald of Wakefield, Joseph Candon of Narragansett, Susan Candon of Wakefield, and Elizabeth Kosiarek of Wakefield; and she also is survived by step-children and many nieces and nephews. The funeral will be 9 am Saturday from the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 114 High Street, Wakefield. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Peace Dale. Visiting hours are Friday 4-8 pm.
