Jane S. Viglionese passed away peacefully on November 4, 2025 after a long illness. She is survived by her beloved husband, Dr. Paschal Viglionese, daughter, Gina Oda (Stanley), sister, Jessica Wilson (Douglas), granddaughter, Natalie Oda (Grant Cawi), niece, Elizabeth Boucher (Nicolas), and two grandnephews, James and Alexander Boucher.
Jane lived her early years in New York City, moving to Rhode Island at age 13, where she lived the rest of her life. She attended local schools, but graduated from Erasmus Hall High School in Brooklyn. An omnivorous reader, with a fine sense of humor, she earned degrees in English at URI and later taught English at Rhode Island Junior College (now CCRI). Her main employment for many years was as proprietor of the Piercraft Shop in Wakefield, RI. She was also an avid, award-winning quilter and member of Ninigret Quilters and Narragansett Bay Quilters. She volunteered as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for a number of years and supported several charities.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Roberts Health Centre and Continuum Hospice for their excellent and compassionate care.
Visiting hours will take place on Thursday, November 13, 2025, 4-6 PM, at Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield RI.
