Dr. James J. Murdocco, 89, of Wakefield, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at home with his wife by his side. He was the loving husband of 28 years to Sandra Haines-Murdocco. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was a son of the late Louis and Rose (Variano) Murdocco.

James enjoyed flying small planes, especially sharing his love of aviation with his good friend, Warner Sweet. He was a proud Vietnam Air Force veteran.

Besides his wife, Sandra, he is survived by two adopted children, James J. Murdocco, Jr., and Gailyn Murdocco, four grandchildren, two great grandchildren, a brother, Pasquale Murdocco and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Chrisitan Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 15th. 2026 at 11 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 114 High St., Wakefield. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Peace Dale. Calling hours will be Friday, August 14, 2026 from 4 to 7 PM in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield.
