James W. Miner

James W. Miner, 74, of Peace Dale, passed away on Wednesday at South County Hospital. He was the husband of Marilyn E. (Carpenter) Miner, they had been married for 28 years. Born in Westerly, he was the son of the late Franklin J., Sr. and Irene (Murphy) Miner Barber. Mr. Miner was a foreman for Kenyon Industries and Charbert Narrow Fabric Mill for many years before retiring. Besides his wife he is survived by five daughters, Mary-Starr Carpenter, Linda, Brenda, Mary and Kelly Miner and two sons, James and David Miner. He was brother of Elias (Toby) Miner of Pawcatuck, Barbara LaFlamme of Hebron, NH Ella Blado of Milan, TN and Peggy Lanning of Knoxville, TN; the late Franklin Miner, Jr. and Eileen Comfort. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Friday, November 30, 2012 at 10 am in the Rocky Brook Advent Christian Church, 83 Sweet Fern Lane, Peace Dale. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers contributions to the Rocky Brook Advent Christian Church in his memory would be appreciated.
