Irving P. Mason, Jr.

Irving P. Mason Jr., 89, of Kenyon Ave, Wakefield, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2014. Born in Norwich, CT, he was the son of the late Irving P. and Lillian (Callahan) Mason. Mr. Mason worked as a warehouseman at General Dynamics Electric Boat Division, Groton, CT for thirty one years before retiring in 1990. He was an avid oysterman and shell fisherman. He was a great outdoorsman who loved nature, picking blueberries and strawberries and admired all of God's creation, especially animals. He delighted in his conversion at the age of 85. He leaves his dear friend of 36 years Kelli McNulty with whom he lived and his two kitties, Francis and Sissy, along with many other friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, March 14, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 114 High St., Wakefield. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Peace Dale.
