Irene Laliberte

Just days before her 95th birthday Irene passed on to eternal life to join her late beloved husband Leo, who has been waiting for her for 35 years. She was born in Central Falls, the daughter of the late Mino Karagianes, from the Macedonia region of Greece, and Arzelia Senecal from Central Falls.

The day after she graduated from high school, she had an interview with Rhode Island Hospital Trust National Bank, was hired, and had a 34-year career there, retiring as a bank officer. Irene excelled at anything she put her mind to, was an outstanding seamstress, and would tirelessly care for and feed friends and family who were in need.

She is predeceased by her three brothers, George, Thomas, and Christus, and her beloved grandson, Lee Stetson. She is survived by her sister, Mary T. Morris; her daughter and her son-in-law, Denise and Peter Stetson; and her companion and brother-in-law, Norman Vegiard.

In her memory, gather together and brew a pot of coffee, have a bowl of spaghetti, and indulge in some good quality chocolate or ice cream. And take care of each other and your neighbors.

Burial arrangements will be private.
