October 27, 1966 — August 2, 2017

Ida-Mae McQuaide, 50, of Charlestown, Rhode Island passed away unexpectedly on August 2, 2017. She was the loving wife of 32 years to James McQuaide Jr., devoted mother to Meagan Seekell and her husband Benjamin Seekell of San Antonio, TX, Andrew McQuaide and his wife Lea Ann McQuaide, Emily McQuaide, and Daniel McQuaide, all of Charlestown, RI, and proud grandmother to Kayla, Matthew, Caiden, Miles, and Eliot. Ida-Mae will be remembered as a fierce and tireless advocate for her two children with developmental disabilities. Her life is a tribute to every mother of a child with developmental disabilities; highs and lows sustained through faith, hope, courage and struggle. Visiting Hours will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2017 from 4-7pm in Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St, Wakefield, RI, 02879. Funeral Service will be held Sunday, August 6, at 3pm in First Baptist Church of Narragansett, 305 Kingstown Rd, Narragansett, RI 02882. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Educated Canines Assisting with Disabilities, the Sibling Leadership Network, or Special Olympics Rhode Island.
