Hope B. Tucker, 98, a longtime Wakefield resident, died Monday. She was the wife of the late Samuel Tucker. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Roland and Mabel (Alder) Brown. Mrs. Tucker was employed at the former LADD School in Exeter and had also worked at many local nursing homes. She was a member of the Perryville Grange, Pamona Grange, the Order of the Eastern Star, and she loved to travel extensively and play Bingo. Surviving are two daughters, Nancy A. Tucker of Wakefield and Hope ‘Kay” Letterle of Westerly; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Barbara Jane Vastano and sister of the late Roland Brown, Benjamin Brown and David Ferguson. A funeral service will be held 10 AM Thursday at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield. Burial will follow in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown. Visiting hours are Wednesday 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Westerly Adult Day Services, 65 Wells Street, Westerly, RI 02891.
