Hien Phuoc Nguyen

Hien Phuoc Nguyen, age 65, of South Kingstown passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2023. Born in South Vietnam, he was the son of Long Thanh Nguyen and Em Thi Bui. Hien, also known as Henry, was the beloved husband of Thu Kim Duong.

Henry and his family came to American in 1981 during the Vietnam War. He worked for APC and after two years started his own business, Sunfish Company. He was the first seafood distributor to distribute between Narragansett, Rhode Island and Boston, Massachusetts. Henry paved the way for seafood distribution in Rhode Island to Boston with Sunfish Company, which he prided himself on. He worked for 30 years before retiring due to kidney disease.

Besides his wife, Henry leaves behind his children, Victoria Nguyen, David Nguyen, and Lena Calo. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Nathan Huy, Elizabeth Nguyen, Shayla Huy, Alex Calo, and Isabella Nguyen.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, from 4 pm to 6 pm in Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St, Wakefield.
