Helen T. Sweeney

Helen T. Sweeney, 79, formally of Narragansett where she lived for many years until moving to Mount Dora, FL passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 12, 2017. Helen was the wife of Robert Sweeney of Mount Dora FL. Born in Providence, RI on October 25, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Kathrine Fallon; sister of the late Doris Tiernan. She is survived by her children, Edward Beck III of Narragansett and Teresa Beck Maine APRN of Wakefield; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Helen also leaves behind her siblings Dr. Frank Fallon of East Greenwich, RI, Robert Fallon of Naples, Fla and William Fallon of Merrimac, MA. Helen was retired from the Town of Narragansett where she worked for many years as the Purchasing Agent. Once her children were grown, she returned back to school and achieved her Bachelors Degree in Womens studies from the University of Rhode Island. Which led her down a totally different path and became very active in the South County Courts, as Guardian Ad-litem and the Domestic Violence Advocate. In her early years, Helen was active in Narragansett Cub Scouts and Little League. Once moving to FL, she was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, where she was also a member of the Womens Guild. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 17, 2017 at 9:00AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Mt. Dora, FL. Visiting hours celebrating her life will be held Saturday March 4th from 3-5 pm in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield.
