October 31, 1920 — April 13, 2015

Helen Sandmeier, 94, of Old Usquepaugh Rd., Richmond, passed away Monday April 13, 2015. She was the wife of the late Norman Arnold and George Sandmeier. Mrs. Sandmeier worked in food service for Richmond and Chariho Schools and the University of Rhode Island before retiring. She was a founding member of Christ the King Parish. She was a member of the Richmond Homemakers,enjoyed knitting and was an overall craft person. Mrs. Sandmeier was also a member of the Richmond Seniors where she enjoyed playing cribbage. She was the devoted mother to Norman R. Arnold of North Ft. Myers, FL and Helen M. Smith of Richmond; sister of Doris Yarrington and Irene Weinreich; loving grandmother of Kevin Arnold, Anne Allphin and Katherine Smith and great grandmother of the late Bryan Lopez. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in Christ the King Church, 180 Old North Rd., Kingston. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Peace Dale. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-7 p.m. in Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Herbert L. Arnold Fire and Safety Complex, Station 1, 208 Richmond Townhouse Rd., Carolina, RI 02812.
