Helen Gabriel Reinholtz

November 28, 1919 — August 3, 2008

Helen Gabriel Reinholtz, 88 formerly of Kingston, passed away after a short illness at Lewis Gale Hospital in Virginia, on Sunday August 3rd. She was the wife of the late Henry O. Reinholtz She was born in Bristol, CT, but for the past three years, she has been a resident of Summerville Assisted Living at Ridgewood Gardens, in Salem, VA. She received her Bachelors Degree in History from St. Joseph’s College in Hartford, CT and her Masters Degree in English from the University of Rhode Island. She taught English for over 40 years in the public schools systems of both Connecticut and Rhode Island. For many years following her retirement she was an active volunteer at her church, Christ the King, a Rhode Island state lobbyist for the AARP, an active volunteer and officer for the South County Hospital Auxiliary and for the past three years she was the secretary of the Summerville Residence Association. She is survived by two sons and their families, Henry Reinholtz and his wife Rhonda and daughter Katherine, all of Indiana, PA; William Reinholtz and his wife Jan of Roanoke, VA and their two sons William, II of Roanoke, VA and Michael of Richmond, VA; a sister Sophie Hayes of Hartford, CT, a brother John Gabriel of Enfield, CT, a sister in law Gert Toussaint of East Hartford, CT and a brother in law Edward Reinholtz of Ft. Myers, FL. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday August 7th at 10 AM in Christ the King Church, 180 Old North Road, Kingston. Burial will take place at 3 PM in Pine Grove Cemetery, Middletown, CT. Visiting hours are at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, Wednesday 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Christ the King Church, 180 Old North Road, Kingston, RI 02881.
