Helen Westlake De Mayo

April 3, 1923 — July 1, 2011

Helen (Westlake) De Mayo, 88, of Pt. Judith Rd., Narragansett passed away peacefully on Friday July 1, 2011. She was the wife of the late William De Mayo. Born in South Kingstown, she was the daughter of the late RI State Senator George Westlake and Mary (Oatley) Westlake. Helen worked as a social worker for the State of RI for many years. She was the bookkeeper for Westlake’s Garage for many years. She was a member of St. Peter’s by the Sea Episcopal Church, enjoyed traveling and helping others. She leaves cousins, Sandra Petrocelli and her husband Norman of Coventry, Ronald Oatley of Narragansett, Scott Oatley of North Kingstown, Sarah Lima of Newport and Peter Wilcox of Wakefield. A special thanks to her caregivers, Gail Champlin and Helen Taylor. A graveside service will be held Thursday July 7th at 2:00 PM in Riverside Cemetery, High St., Wakefield. Donations in her memory may be made to Animal Rescue League of Southern RI.
