Harry R. Towne

Harry R. Towne, 69, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Carlene (Sheehan) Towne for forty-five years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Harry R. Towne Jr. and Eva (Lacouture) Towne. Harry was a special agent for the US Government Treasury Department for twenty-five years before retiring in 1994. He was also a commercial lobsterman for many years. Harry was a graduate of Hope High School and received a BS in Accounting from Providence College where he was a member of the hockey team. He was a member of Pine Crest Golf Course, South County Pool League, South Kingstown Elks Lodge 1899, and American Legion Downey Weaver Post. Visiting hours will be Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield. Burial will be private.
