Harry The Mink Mars

Harry N. “ The Mink” Mars, 87, of Springbrook Rd., Westerly, died Saturday at home. He was the husband of Carol (Dunham) Mars and the former husband of Donna (Whitaker) Mars, the mother of his children. Born in South Kingstown, he was a son of the late Christian S. and Rosebud (Thomas) Mars. Mr. Mars was a design builder of fine homes in the South County Area for many years before retiring. He was a W.W. II US Army veteran and a recipient of the Bronze Star. He was a member of the Narragansett Indian Tribe. He was the father of Harry N. Mars of CT and Rebecca Mars-Tiodor of East Matunuck; grandfather of eight and great grandfather of seven. He was the brother of the late Rev. Harold Mars, Rev. Kenneth Mars, Elizabeth Champlin, Milford Mars and Christian Mars Jr. The funeral will be Thursday at 10:00 AM in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield. Burial with military honors will be in Riverside Cemetery, Wakefield. Visiting hours Wednesday 6-8 PM.
