Harriet Edith Perkins, 78, died June 22, 2014. She was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth R. Perkins, Jr., and they had been married for 47 years. Born January 30, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Frederick Earl and Myrtle Sheldon (Clark) Babcock. Mrs. Perkins had worked for food services at South Kingstown High School and American Power Conversion Corp., until she retired. She enjoyed Newport Grand and Foxwoods Casino, gardening, her Bess Eaton Coffee and morning paper at the Narragansett Sea Wall, and she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandson, Tanner. She is survived by a son, Steve D. Perkins of West Kingston; a daughter, Debra M. Perkins of Carlise, PA; a grandson, Tanner L. Perkins of Wakefield; and a brother-in-law, David G. Perkins and his wife Beth of Charlestown. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date to be posted on Facebook.
