Harold Skip Chafee

Harold M. “Skip” Chafee, 90, of Perryville, peacefully passed away in his home on Saturday, February 14th, after a long illness. He was the husband of H. Nadine (Dawley) Chafee and they were married 63 years. Born in Peace Dale, he was a son of the late George and Susan (Weaver) Chafee. Mr. Chafee was employed at Stanley-Textron for 28 years. After retiring, his passion was restoring antique Model A’s and was a member of the Little Rhody Model A Club. He was a longtime member of the Perryville Bible Church. Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Barbara J. Smith of Wakefield and Melanie J. Colbert of Charlestown, six grandchildren and six great- grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Gladys Holland. A funeral service will be at 12 Noon Thursday, February 19th in the Perryville Bible Church, 220 Moonstone Beach Road. Burial with military honors will follow in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours are at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, Wednesday, February 18th, from 6-8 PM.
