Guy W. Badger, 79, of Charlestown, RI died Friday. He was the beloved husband of Mary Jane (Boisvert) Badger and the late Janice (Sweet) Badger. Born in Auburn, Massachusetts, he was a son of the late Wellman and Ellen (Johnson) Badger. Mr. Badger was a Seventh Grade Science Teacher at the Broadview School in Danbury, CT for 30 years. After retiring from teaching, he moved to Rhode Island, sold real estate for Wallander Realty, eventually settling in Charlestown. When living in Danbury, he was very active in the Boy Scouts and his church, the King Street United Church of Christ, and was part of the Hamm Radio community. He enjoyed camping, hiking, reading, birding, and spending his winters in Venice, Florida. Mr. Badger honorably served with the United States Marines during the Korean Conflict. Besides his wife he is survived by three children, Paul Badger of Watertown, Connecticut, Bonnie Krauss of Newington, CT, and Marilyn Brandyberry of Kingston; and five granddaughters; Rachel, Amy, Mary, Emily, and Anne. A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 10 AM at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, RI. Burial will follow in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Home & Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904-9826.
