Grace B. Wise

Harriet Grace (Browning) Wise, 92, died September 29, 2024 at her home in Dorset, VT. She was born in Wakefield, RI, the second oldest of six children. Her parents were Mervin Hoxsie Browning and Mary Frances (Harvey) Browning.She was the loving wife of William J. Wise. They lived in Dorset Vermont and happily married for 60 years.

Grace graduated from South Kingstown High School, Class of 1950 and the University of Rhode Island Class of 1954. Following her undergraduate studies, she attended UCLA to become a Registered Dietician.

Grace worked at several hospitals throughout her career as a Dietician, most notably at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA and finally retiring at 62 from Rutland Hospital, Rutland VT. She was a Member of the United Church of Christ in Dorset, VT and the past Worthy Advisor of the Rainbow Girls, SK Assembly No. 6.

She was the sister to Peregrine Tripp Browning of Westerly, RI, Martha McDonald of Greene, RI, and the late Mervin H. Browning, Jr of West Palm Beach, FL, Mary Browning and Margaret Caswell of Wakefield, RI.

A Graveside service will take place on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at 10 AM in New Fernwood Cemetery, Kingston.
