Gordon Stewart, 92, of South Kingston, RI, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, with his loving family by his side. Born on September 24, 1933, to the late Haven and Mildred (Hairyes) Stewart and the beloved husband of 53 years of Mary (Grady) Stewart, Gordon grew up in Worcester prior to settling in Rhode Island.

Gordon worked as a salesman for over 70 years before he retired from SmithCo Oil. He was a longtime member of Boylston Lodge A.F. and A.M, Mt. Vernon F and A.M., Lodge No. 4 and the Valley of Providence Scottish Rite.

In addition to his loving wife of 53 years, Mary, Gordon is survived by his children, Marcia Street of Wakefield, RI; David Stewart and his wife Lynne, John Stewart and BethAnn Stewart all of Worcester, MA; his grandchildren, Nathan Street and his wife Christina Street of Ashaway, RI; Elizabeth Stewart of Worcester, MA and Brittany Markley and her husband Benjamin of Leicester, MA; his great grandchildren, Kaydence Street and Chance Street of Ashaway, RI, Giovanni Gencarelli of Worcester, MA, Penelope Markley of Leicester, MA, Andrea Joubert and Brooke Joubert of West Warwick, RI; as well a several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Wallace Stewart, Sr.

Arrangements are in the care of Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Sr. Wakefield, RI 02879. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 11AM in Christ the King Church, 180 Old North Rd. Kingston, RI 02881. A burial will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026, at 1PM at St. John’s Cemetery, 263 Cambridge St, Worcester, MA.
