Gordon L. Campbell

Gordon L. Campbell, 63, of Narragansett, RI died unexpectedly Sunday. He was the husband of Nancy H. (Rowley) Campbell. Born in Wakefield, he was the son of Walter Campbell and the late Rita Whaley. Gordon worked for C & J Forms. He was a longstanding member of the New England Carpenters Union and retired in 2011. He was happiest spending time with his wife and family both in Narragansett, RI and Crescent Beach, CT. Gordon and Nancy celebrated their 40th anniversary on August 9th this year. He was a devoted and caring husband, father, and grandfather. He cooked nice meals for his family including those at holiday gatherings. In retirement, he liked researching his family genealogy and was an avid sports fan. Besides his wife he is survived by his son Cliff Campbell and his wife Kristin, of North Attleboro, MA; his grandson Luke Campbell of North Attleboro, MA; two sisters Mary Jane Anthony and her husband Benny of North Kingstown and Susan Shaw and her husband John of Jamestown; his sister-in-law Elizabeth Sims and husband Thomas of Atlanta, GA; and two nephews Christopher Anthony and wife Alison and Thomas Sims D Sims and wife Elizabeth of Winter Park, FL. A memorial service will be held at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, RI on Saturday, September 6th at 1 p.m. Burial will be private and visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
