Gloria T. Stewart, 72, of Wakefield, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved and devoted wife of Stephen O Stewart for 46 years. Born in Mexico, she was a daughter of the late Miguel and Maria de Jesus Talamantes. Mrs. Stewart was an Office Manager for Christ the King Church in Kingston until her retirement. She was a member and Treasurer of the VFW Auxiliary 916. She loved to travel and will be remembered for being a great cook, a devout Catholic, and devoted and loving wife, mother, Nana, and sister. Besides her husband, she is survived by two children, Stephen M. Stewart and his wife Molly of Chicago and Natalie Stewart Guay and her husband Glen of Coventry; three grandchildren, Caroline, Joseph, and Stephen P.; eight siblings, Bertha Velasquez, Margarita Gonzalez, Maria Teresa Mendosa, Ofelia Sullivan, Carlos Talamantes, Miguel Talamantes, Martha Randolph, and Jose Luis Talamantes. She was predeceased by her older brother Rojelio Talamantes. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 am in Christ the King Church, 180 Old North Road, Kingston. Burial will follow in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours are at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, Monday, 4-7 pm.
