Gloria J. (Champlin) Fry, 71, of Boston Neck Rd., Narragansett, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Monday, January 7, 2013. She was the longtime companion of Tito Ortiz Jr. Born in South Kingstown, she was the daughter of the late Milfred Sr., and Pearl (Reels) Champlin. Gloria was a graduate of South Kingstown High School. She worked as a CNA at Allen’s Nursing Home for many years. She was a member of the Narragansett Indian Tribe. Gloria loved spending time at the Narragansett Seawall and found serenity by the ocean. She was the mother of Marlene Miller of Providence, Rhonda Fry of Cranston, Darryl Fry of Exeter, and Douglas Fry of Charlestown and the late Paul Fry Jr.; sister of Eugene, Douglas, Craig and Gary Champlin, Barbara Sekator, Shirley Champlin-Christy, Virginia Perry, Sheila Champlin-Levy, Donna Maddox, Gail Champlin, the late Milfred Champlin Jr., and Cynthia Champlin. She also leaves eleven grandchildren and twenty three great grandchildren. Visitation will be Saturday 1-2 PM followed by a funeral service at 2 PM in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield.
