Glen Aulenbach

November 3, 1938 — December 7, 2025

Glen Lewis Aulenbach died, leaving behind a legacy of service, dedication, and an adventurous spirit. He was the son of the late Lily Frick and Fred Aulenbach.

Glen was the beloved spouse of Daureen (Durrell) Aulenbach for 63 years. Together, they built a life defined by enduring partnership.

A man of intellect and discipline, Glen attended Penn State University and went on to graduate from Providence College. His commitment to his country was evident in his military service; he spent 10 years on active duty and eventually retired from the Navy Reserve. He continued his passion for aviation in the civilian sector, flying as a pilot for American Airlines for 27 years.

Outside of the cockpit, Glen was a true sportsman. He found deep fulfillment throughout his years as a soccer coach, shaping the lives of many young athletes. He enjoyed all sports, with a particular fondness for skiing and golf. Glen remained an athlete throughout his life, completing three marathons and famously taking up rollerblading in his 60s.

Besides his wife, Daureen, he leaves his son Jon and his wife, Tina Yetman; and his son, David and his wife, Lara Aulenbach; his two granddaughters, Eve and Lily, as well as his niece, Sarah Durrell.

There will be a celebration of life at 11am on Monday, December 15, 2025 at Christ the King Church in Kingston, RI and ashes will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer’s Association.
