Gilda Helen Prata

Gilda H. Prata (Tammetta), 87, of Wakefield, passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Pasquale Prata, Jr. for 63 years. Born in Carlstadt, NJ, a daughter of the late Marino and Angelina (Marratioti) Tammetta. Mrs. Prata was a beautician and then a transporter at Kent County Hospital for 15 years before retiring. Gilda along with her husband were residents of Bradenton, FL for over 20 years before returning to RI. Besides her husband she is survived by her children, Loretta Swider and her husband David of VA, Sandra Perry and her husband Robert of Wakefield, Patricia Courtemanche of South Kingstown and Pasquale M. Prata and his wife Wendy of Coventry; three sisters, Marie Grasso and Gloria Coppa of NJ and Thelma Gambino in Italy; five grandsons and four great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Paula Jensen, Loretta Tammetta, Frank and Anthony Tammetta. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2016, in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield, from 3-5 PM with a funeral service at 5 pm. Burial will be private.
