Gertrude M. Devlin

Gertrude M. Devlin (Boyle) passed away Friday January 23rd, 2009 at the Scallop Shell Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late John E. Devlin, formerly of Providence, RI. Born in Belfast, N. Ireland, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Winifred (Keenan) Boyle. She was a member of the Sisters of the Cross & Passion Order for 27 years here in Rhode Island. John, her late husband was a priest for 31 years and was the Parish Priest at St. Francis Church in Wakefield, for a number of years. She was the sister of John McKeown of Belfast, N. Ireland, Maudie Tyson of Coventry, England, Maureen Mulholland of Larne, Co. Antrim, N. Ireland, the late Roberta Holland, formerly of Melbourne, Australia, Gerry Boyle of Belfast, N. Ireland and Paddy Boyle and his wife Maura of Wakefield, RI. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday January 30th, 2009 at 10 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 114 High Street, Wakefield. Burial will be private and visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to the Scallop Shell Activities Fund, 981 Kingstown Road, Peace Dale, RI 02879.
