Geraldine A. Gerry Ann Ashworth

Geraldine A. Ashworth, 51, died on July 21, 2014 at Brigham & Women’s Hospital. She had courageously fought cancer for the last 4 years. She was the daughter of Barbara (Cicilline) DiSanto, the late Gerald J. Ashworth, and the late Waldo DiSanto. She resided in Johnston and Narragansett. She was an advocate for her friends and neighbors, a loving sister, niece, auntie, and cousin. Her happy place was on a sunny, sandy beach. She loved taking photos of sunsets from all over Rhode Island. She is survived by her brothers, Michael (Leslie), Kevin, (Edie) David (Charlotte), Peter (Jody), John DiSanto, and Meredith Slater Ashworth (widow of the late brother, Terence). Gerry Ann graduated from Toll Gate High School in 1981, and Anna Maria College in 1985 with a BA in Psychology. A member of the PAIMI Advisory Council of Rhode Island she was active in fighting for disabled peoples’ rights and. Visitation is to be held Friday July 25th, 8:30- 10:00 AM, at Avery Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, RI. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM at St. Thomas More Church, 53 Rockland Street, Narragansett.
