Gerald Halleck

Gerald Halleck, 78, of Coventry, passed away Saturday, September 23, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Lesley (Hilton) Halleck. Born in Westerly, RI, he was the son of the late Peter Halleck and Lena Koch, he was predeceased by his brother Michael and sister Marguerite.

Jerry was a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service in Coventry for over twenty years before retiring in 2007. He was a US Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War.

He was a life member for thirty-three years of Coventry/West Greenwich Elks #2285, Exalted Ruler 1998-1999, 2006-2007 and 2007-2008, District Deputy 2004-2005, State President 2011-2012 and State Elk of the Year 2017-2018. Jerry loved spending time and playing cards with his family and friends.

Besides his wife he leaves behind a stepdaughter Ashlee Grimes and her fiancé Michael Silvestri; a stepson, Brett Grimes; grandchildren, Zoey and Michael; cousins Diana Scarano and her husband Bill; Gail Wells and her husband Steve and many dear friends who will greatly miss him.

A celebration of life will be Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 11:00 AM , in the South Kingstown Elks, 60 Belmont Ave, Wakefield, RI. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Elks National Foundation, 2750 N. Lakeview Ave, Chicago, IL 60614.
