Georgene Luttmann

Georgene Hoy Luttmann, age 68, of North Kingstown RI, died on 6/8/2023 at the South Kingston Nursing and Rehab center due to complications from cancer.

Georgene was born January 21,1955. She grew up in Delaware and vacationed in the summer with her family in Stone Harbor, New Jersey. She graduated from St. Lawrence University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology and went on to SUNY in New Paltz to receive a masters in fine arts.

Georgene is survived by her son, Sean S. Luttmann. She lived in Lincoln RI for most of her life and vacationed at the beaches of Stone Harbor New Jersey. She moved to North Kingston in the last years of her life so she could live closer to the North Kingston public library, where she worked as the computer, network and IT specialist.

Her family remembers her as someone who loved to cook, especially baking and particularly desserts. She had a reputation for bringing the best desserts to family gatherings. We will all miss her chocolate cheesecakes, her wonder bars and her lace cookies. She loved to read, particularly science fiction and fantasy, with her favorite book being “A wrinkle in Time.” She loved pets and throughout her life cared for dogs, cats and a rabbit until each one passed on from old age.

Besides her son, she is survived by her sisters Elizabeth Furcolo and Suzie Hoy, her bother David Hoy, her step brother Art Sells, her sister-in-law Jane Hoy and her brother in law Ken Furcolo, her 8 nephews George Kyle Furcolo, William Furcolo, Nicholas Furcolo, Sanford Hoy, Daniel Hoy, Andrew Hoy, Stephen Hoy and Brian Hoy and 2 nieces Laura Hoy and Arelyn Corbett.

There will be a graveside memorial service on Friday June 16th 2023 at 2 pm at the New St. Francis Cemetery in Wakefield RI, 125 George Schaeffer Street, Wakefield, RI 02879. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 15th from 4-6 pm at the Avery Storti Funeral home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, RI 02879.
