George D. Taylor Jr., 77, of Laurel Lane, West Kingston, died Thursday at South County Hospital, Wakefield. Born in South Kingstown, he was a son of the late George D. Taylor Sr. and Theresa (Jordan) Reels. Mr. Taylor worked for Hollis Tucker and Albert Turf Farm for many years before retiring. He was a member of the Wood River Baptist Church, Richmond and the Narragansett Indian Tribe. He enjoyed playing slot machines and ticket lottery and could always be seen across South County picking up cans. He leaves three brothers, William Reels of Wakefield, Albert Taylor of West Greenwich and Clifford Taylor of Providence; and many nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held Tuesday at 1:00 PM in the AVERY-STORTI Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery, North Kingstown. Visiting hours will be Monday 6-8 PM.
