George V. Malgieri

George V. Malgieri, 88, of Narragansett, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2016. He was the husband of the late Mildred H. (Cronin) Malgieri. Born in Fall River, MA, he was the son of the late Eugene N. Malgieri Sr. and Agnes C. (Manning) Malgieri. George was a U S Marine Veteran of WW II. He was the US Post Master in Wakefield, Narragansett and Kingston for many years before retiring. He was a communicant of St. Thomas More Church, a board member of the Narragansett Redevelopment Agency, the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick, South County Hospital Board of Trustees and was involved with the Inez Sprague Fund. He was the father of the late Michael G. Malgieri; brother of Madonna R. Joy of Narragansett and the late Eugene N. Malgieri Jr.; uncle of Michele, Christopher and Thomas Joy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Thomas More Church, 53 Rockland St., Narragansett. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Peace Dale. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Thomas More Church Dominican Republic Orphanage, 53 Rockland St., Narragansett, RI 02882.
