George Captain Bob Main

George "Capt. Bob" Main, 83, of Wakefield, died Monday, September 8th. He was the husband of the late Anne (Baldwin) Main. Born in Carolina, RI, he was son of the late George R. and Gladys (Larkin) Main. Mr. Main was a World war II veteran, commercial & sport fisherman, as well as a trapper for the federal government and the State of RI. His knowledge of fishing and the wilderness were extraordinary. All his family and friends will sincerely miss his fascinating stories of his life and his unique sense of humor. He is survived by a son, Jim Main of Wakefield, two stepdaughters, Julie Maheu of Harrisville and Cindy Kasket of Costa Rica, a sister, Opal Carsten of Hope Valley, ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Funeral and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Wildlife Federation, 11100 Wildlife Center Drive, Reston, VA 20190-5362.
