George F. Lenihan, Sr., 72, of Narragansett, died Friday. He was the beloved husband of Jane (McCloskey) Lenihan for 50 years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late James and Ann (O’Malley) Lenihan. In his earlier years, Mr. Lenihan was president of Lenihan Electric and a former member of the IBEW. Currently, he was co-owner and operator of Pancho O’Malley’s Restaurant in Narragansett and was co-founder and former operator of Ocean Skate Roller Rink, Adventure Land Mini Golf Park and Moo Moos ice cream stand. He is a veteran of the United States Army, and he loved spending time with his grandchildren. Besides his wife he is survived by four children, Karen Elderidge of Narragansett, George F. Lenihan, Jr. of Narragansett, Sean P. Lenihan of Virginia and Timothy M. Lenihan of Narragansett; five grandchildren; and a sister Mary Bertone of North Providence. He was the brother of the late James Lenihan A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Tuesday at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 114 High Street, Wakefield. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Peace Dale. Visiting hours are at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, Monday 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Diabetes Association, 146 Clifford Street, Providence, RI 02903.
