George F. Kwetkowski, 83, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 16th, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Helen (DeLiello) Kwetkowski for 61 years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Kaietan and Eva (Niedwiecki) Kwetkowski. He was a graduate of Central High School and was president of his class. Mr. Kwetkowski was a long time member of the Johnston Lions Club and the Narragansett Lions Club. He was an avid Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, and Providence College Friars fan. He will be remembered most for being a gracious host Besides his wife he is survived by four children, David G. Kwetkowski of Cranston, Joan M. Ricciuti of Johnston, Dr. Brian G. Kwetkowski of Warwick, and Dr. Elena M. Kwetkowski of Cranston; and five grandchildren, David, Anthony, Kalyn, Taylor, and Camden. He was the brother of the late Helen Cobb and John Kwetkowski. The funeral will be 9 am Tuesday from the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at St. Thomas More, Narragansett. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours are Monday, 4-7 pm.
