George Ashton Hooper

George A. Hooper, 83, of Narragansett, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 6, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Teresa L. (Gafner) Hooper for 52 years. Born in Blue Hill, ME, the son of the late Ashley and Hilda (Maker) Hooper. George was an Airman 1st Class, PO1, for the U.S. Navy before retiring; was a Security Advisor for U.R.I. for 30 years; was a charter member of the Mettatuxet Yacht Club; a member of the N.R.A.; a motorcycle enthusiast; loved boating and traveling. Besides his wife he is survived by his children, Shawn R. Hooper and his wife Tina of Hatfield, PA, Deborah M. Stephens and her husband David of Virginia Beach, VA, Craig A. Hooper of Norfolk, VA and Kelley A. Hannah and her husband Donovan of Charlestown and two grandchildren, Casey L. Hooper and Christopher Ashton Hooper. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, October 11, 2020, from 2-4 pm, in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield. Burial will be private.
