Genevieve DeSimone, 93, of Providence, died Saturday. She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony “Dempsey” DeSimone. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Pasquale and Philomena (Mazullo) Valente. She is survived by two sons, David DeSimone and his wife Karen (Laffey) of Charlestown and Dennis DeSimone of Cranston; three grandchildren, Erica Brodeur, Amanda LaMar, and David DeSimone; four great-grandchildren; and a brother Carlo Valente of East Providence. She was the sister of the late Jennie Malane, Mary, Peter, John, Paul, and Emilio Valente. The funeral will be 8:45 am Saturday from the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 114 High Street, Wakefield. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery.
