Galen Edward Leonard-Wolfenden

October 16, 1992 — February 27, 2021

Galen Wolfenden of South Kingstown passed away on February 27, 2021. He was 28 years old. He was born in Wakefield to Linda Leonard and Bryan Wolfenden and was soon joined by his sisters Amy and Julie. Galen graduated from South Kingstown High School, where he played in the band for 4 years, and attended CCRI. Galen always had a passion for music and photography. He listened to a wide variety of genres and was an accomplished musician, playing the electric and acoustic guitar, bass, as well as percussion. He could hear a song for the first time, pick up his guitar, and remarkably begin to play along. With a creative eye, he captured countless breathtaking photographs throughout his life, which he loved to share with friends and family. Galen enjoyed working with his hands and worked on various home improvement and renovation projects, oftentimes working alongside his father, and most recently worked as a foundation and concrete specialist for South County Builders. Galen had a soft heart and a deep love and admiration for nature, animals and his beloved family pets. He lived for summers at the beach and exploring on hiking trails, camping trips, and most recently developed a wanderlust following his three- months-long backpacking adventure in Europe last year. Galen's bright and positive energy uplifted the spirits of everyone he encountered. He was known for having a quick smile, a warm hug and made friends easily. Galen will be loved, cherished and remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know him. He leaves behind his father Bryan and his partner Liz, his mother Linda and stepfather Jeff Sternberg, sister Julie and her partner Karley, sister Amy and her partner Phil and their baby Freya, as well as a large number of close friends, aunts, uncles and cousins. Galen was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. An outdoor Celebration of Galen's Life will be planned in the near future and all are welcome to attend. The outpouring of support the family has already received is greatly appreciated.
