Frederick Kenyon, Jr.

September 2, 1938 — January 8, 2015

Frederick Kenyon Jr., 76, of West Kingston, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2015 surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Margaret R. (North) Kenyon for fifty two years. Born in Westerly, he was the son of the late Frederick Sr. and Gertrude (Ward) Kenyon. Mr. Kenyon graduated from The University of Rhode Island in 1960 with a degree in mechanical engineering. He served in the US Army Reserves. Fred was a passionate family man who had the luxury of working from home. An avid baseball player in his youth, he extended his love of the sport by coaching Little League for his son and chaperoning his grandsons on baseball tournaments, including trips to Alaska and Cooperstown. Although he graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering he chose his love of the land and animals and was a lifelong dairyman and farmer. He was a member of the Washington County Antique Tractor Pullers, the Southern RI Conservation District and a board director for several years. He was the father of Peter F. Kenyon and his wife Jane , Holly K. Burdett and her husband John and Caroline A. Kenyon all of West Kingston; brother of Stephen Kenyon of Woodville; grandfather of Peter Kenyon Jr, Anna Gardner and her husband George, Megan and Samuel Kenyon and Lorna Burdett; great grandfather of George, Gracelyn and Ryan Gardner.
