Frederick Allen Jones, Jr.

Frederick A. Jones, Jr., 88, of Narragansett, passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2019, at home. He was the husband of the late Rosemary M. (Coleman) Jones. Born in New Shoreham, a son of the late Frederick A. Jones, Sr. and Mabreth (Mott) Jones. Mr. Jones was a self- employed commercial fisherman for many years and a U.S. Navy Veteran. He loved the sea, spending time at the waterfront and Block Island. He was a lifelong avid reader. He is survived by his children, Maureen J. Chronley, Stephen A. Jones, Kevin W. Jones and Lori A. Jones all of Narragansett; two sisters, Joyce Hardman of Greenville and Carol Godbout of Omaha, NE; daughter-in-law, Kathleen Andreozzi of Clemson, SC; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was the father of the late Brian D. Jones. Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019, 11 am 2 pm followed by a funeral service at 2 pm in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield. Burial will be private.
