Frederick Frongillo, Sr.

Frederick Frongillo Sr. 88, of Houston TX, died peacefully Wednesday, December 24th, 2008 at home. He was the husband of the late C. Mary (Olivieri) Frongillo, to whom he had been married for 40 years. Born on December 3rd, 1920 in Boston, a son of the late George W. and Mary (Lombardi) Frongillo, he lived in Newport for many years before moving to Houston TX. He was a graduate of Boston English HS, Boston, MA, He also attended New England Conservatory of Music, Boston, MA. He was a Contract Specialist for the Raytheon Co. in Waltham, Dighton, MA, and Portsmouth, RI. for 33 years, before retiring in 1981. He was a US Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the RI Wing of the Civil Air Patrol, and was a regional director of the Newport County CYO, and was named the Newport County CYO Man of the year in 1977. He was also active in the Diocese of Providence Search for Maturity. He was a member of the Parish Council of St. Augustines Church, and the Parents Club of St. Catherine Academy, Newport. He was also a member of the Parents Council of Mount St. Josephs College, South Kingstown, RI. He is survived by a daughter Judith Munson and her husband, Hilding Munson of South Kingstown, and two sons, Frederick Frongillo Jr. of Houston, and Michael Frongillo and his wife Kim Frongillo of Killeen, TX, and his former daughter-in-law, Kathleen (Miner) Frongillo of Roanoke, VA, five grandchildren, Kristin and Hilding T. Munson II, Rori, Kira, and Brandon Frongillo, and one great-grandchild Sean Frongillo. He was the brother of the late George Frongillo, Annette Maffei, and Gloria Putnam, and many nieces and nephews.
